The number of children who died after consuming fake cough medicine in India reached 11; Investigation started

 

 

11 children die after taking fake cough medicine in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh The death toll went up when 9 more children died in Chimdwada in Madhya Pradesh. Last day, two children died in Sikar and Bharatpur in Rajasthan. Six of the children who died in Chimdwada were diagnosed with kidney failure.

The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered an inquiry into the death of the children. Samples of the drug were sent for testing. Officials say that it can only be said after tests whether cough medicine is the cause of kidney failure and death in children.
