Air ticket prices hiked in a flash for expatriates

 

 

Air ticket prices have increased by 35 percent, a setback for expatriates going home for the Christmas-New Year holidays. Travel experts indicate that the later you book your tickets, the higher the price will be. If you book now to go home on December 7 and return on January 6, the average price per person is 1500 dirhams (36233).

A family of four will have to pay between 7500 dirhams (Rs. 1,81,169) and 10,000 dirhams (Rs. 2,41,559) to return. The winter holidays are from December 8 to January 4 for schools that started classes in September, and from 15 to January 4 for Indian syllabus schools. Many have planned a 5-week trip by taking a few days off, including the national holiday.
