Death toll from cough medicine rises to 21; Coldriff syrup company owner arrested

 

The number of children who died after consuming cough medicine has risen to 21. The death toll has risen after two more children died in Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, the owner of Srishan Pharma has been arrested. Ranganathan was arrested by the Madhya Pradesh police from Chennai. After the deaths of children after consuming Coldriff syrup, the company owner, Ranganathan and his family went into hiding. He was arrested while an SIT was formed and an investigation was underway.

In Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district alone, 18 children have died. Meanwhile, two children who died the other day are from outside the district. Five children who are undergoing treatment in Nagpur after consuming cough syrup are still in critical condition.
