Denmark to ban social media for children under 15

 

 

Denmark has proposed a plan to ban social media for children under 15, citing the harmful effects of social media on children's mental health and development. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen presented the plan at the opening of the Danish Parliament. The Prime Minister said that mobile phones and social networks are robbing children of their childhood and that Denmark is moving to ban social media for children under 15.

Mette Frederiksen said that social media is contributing to an increase in anxiety, depression, attention deficit and reading disorders in children and that children are watching things on screens that they should not.
