Nobel Peace Prize announced; Venezuela's Maria Corina Machado for her struggle for democracy; Trump disappointed

 

 

The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize has been announced. The award the world has been waiting for was announced today. Venezuelan political leader Maria Corina Machado has been awarded the prize for her struggle for democracy. US President Donald Trump, who advocated for the Nobel Peace Prize, was disappointed.

The prize is in recognition of her interventions in the democratic rights of the people of Venezuela and the transfer of power from autocracy to democracy.
