3 dead in truck accident in US; 21-year-old Indian-origin man arrested

 

 

A 21-year-old Indian-origin man has been arrested in connection with a truck accident in Southern California that killed three people. Jashanpreet Singh, an illegal immigrant from India, has been charged. The accident occurred when the truck hit vehicles that were moving slowly on the San Bernardino County Freeway. Police report that he was under the influence of alcohol while driving.

Jashanpreet Singh immigrated to the United States in 2022. He was arrested by Border Patrol agents in the El Centro sector of California after crossing the southern border of the United States. He was released under the Biden administration's policy of 'alternative to detention', which releases illegal immigrants until their trial is completed.

The footage of the accident was captured on a dash cam. The truck he was driving crashed into the SUV and then into the vehicle in front of it. The identities of the three people who died in the accident were not released.
