Threat to the survival of Christianity in Nigeria; Trump

 

 

US President Donald Trump has said that the survival of Christianity in Nigeria is under threat. Trump wrote on Truth Social that thousands of Christians are being killed in Nigeria and that radical Islamists are responsible for the massacre. Trump announced that he is placing Nigeria on a list of countries of particular concern.

Trump has made allegations that the Nigerian government has previously denied. Reports say that placing Nigeria on a list of countries of particular concern could lead to future sanctions. Countries are usually included on this list on the recommendation of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom and experts from the State Department.
