Historic moment; Indian women's team wins maiden ODI World Cup

 

 

Fans witnessed a historic moment at the DY Patil Stadium. A moment that made all Indians proud. The Indian women's team won its maiden ODI World Cup. India became world champions by defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final.

Chasing a target of 299 runs set by India, South Africa was all out for 246 runs in 45.3 overs. Captain Laura Wolvaart (101) fought hard for South Africa with a century.

After losing in the 2005 and 2017 World Cup finals, India achieved their dream in the third attempt.
