Vijay declared as Tamil Vetri Kazhagam's CM candidate

 

 

Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam party founder and actor Vijay has been officially declared as the CM candidate for the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections. The decision was taken at the TVK general council meeting held in Mahabalipuram. Vijay announced that there will be no alliance in the elections and that he will face off directly with the DMK.

Vijay had earlier made it clear that he only sees the DMK as his opponent. With this, the AIADMK's wishes to ally with Vijay's party have also come to an end.
