Ireland: A video circulating on social media claiming that a lion-like creature was seen in a forest area in County Clare, Ireland, has caused great concern. However, upon examination by the police, it was found that it was not a lion, but a Newfoundland dog named 'Mouse'.
The Garda (Irish police) responded interestingly on social media: ''If you go into the forest, you will not see a lion, but a friendly dog, Mouse,'' he wrote.
The animal protection organization US-PCA clarified that the strange hair of the mouse was misleading people. The organization's representative Siobhan McHaffie said: ''The thick coat of Newfoundland dogs is for protection from heat and sunlight; Cutting it can also cause health problems.''
Although the incident ended in comedy, the organization called for the event to be used to raise awareness about animal protection.
