Tsunami warning in Japan. A tsunami warning has been issued after a magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck off the east coast of Honshu island, which includes Iwate, Japan's largest island, today. People along Japan's northern coast were warned to be on high alert.

The epicenter of the earthquake was about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) deep in the Pacific near Santiku. Waves of up to 1 meter (3 feet, 3 inches) were expected, NHK said.
