The central government has notified the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) rules. The rules have been issued under the DPDP Act, 2023. The rules include provisions such as obtaining parental consent when using children's data on online platforms.

Data controllers who determine the purpose of analyzing personal data must ensure that parental consent is obtained when using children's data. If any breach of personal data is noticed, data controllers must immediately inform those individuals and the Data Protection Board.
