IndiGo travel disruption: PM intervenes; plans to impose fine

 

 

Prime Minister intervenes in IndiGo crisis. The Civil Aviation Ministry has informed Prime Minister Modi about the problem. IndiGo has announced that the cancellation refund will be directly credited to the accounts. The Civil Aviation Ministry has summoned IndiGo officials. They have been asked to appear at 6 pm. IndiGo is also planning to impose a fine.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has announced new flight fares. The maximum fare to be charged for a distance of 500 km is Rs 7,500. For a distance of 500-1,000 km, the maximum is Rs 12,000. For a distance of 1,000-1,500 km, the maximum is Rs 15,000. Airlines will not be able to charge beyond the specified limit. The limit does not apply to business class and UDAN services.
