US airstrikes on IS targets in Syria

 

 

The US has reportedly carried out airstrikes on Islamic State targets in Syria. The international media reported this, citing unnamed US sources. The attack comes after US President Donald Trump announced that there would be retaliation for the attack on US troops in Syria last week.

Two US soldiers and a civilian were killed in an attack on a convoy of US and Syrian troops in the central Syrian city of Palmyra on Saturday. The US airstrikes are in retaliation for this.
