Oscars 2026: Five Indian films in the list

Los Angeles: The 98th Academy Awards (Oscars) qualification list has been released. Five films with Indian connections have been included in the Best Picture category.

The list includes Rishabh Shetty's 'Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1', Anupam Kher's 'Thanvi The Great', the animated film 'Mahavathara Narasimha', the Tamil film 'Tourist Family' and Radhika Apte's 'Sister Midnight'.

Other categories: Neeraj Ghaywan's 'Homebound' has made it to the final 15 films in the Best Foreign Language Film list.

Procedure: The films on this list have to be nominated through voting. 10 films will compete in the final stage for the Best Picture category.

The Oscars ceremony will be held on March 15.
