Grammy Award-winning musician John Forte passes away

New York: Grammy-nominated musician John Forte (50), who was noted for his work with the world-famous hip-hop band 'Fugees', has passed away. He was found dead at his residence in Chilmark, Massachusetts, on Monday afternoon.

Police Chief Sean Slavin said that no unusual circumstances were initially found in the death. The medical examiner is investigating to determine the cause of death. There are reports that he was undergoing treatment for a heart attack last year.

Forte became world famous in the 90s with the legendary album 'The Score' of the band 'Fugees'. Apart from being a singer, he was also a great guitarist. He has worked with celebrities including Wyclef Jean.

In 2000, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for drug trafficking. However, in 2008, President George W. Bush commuted his sentence after the intervention of people including the famous singer Carly Simon.

He is married to photographer Lara Fuller. They have two children, Hailey and Ren.

The unexpected death of Forte, who made a huge impact on the music world in his twenties, has left music lovers in mourning.
