New York: Football fans are flocking to North America (USA, Canada, Mexico) for tickets to be held in 2026. FIFA has officially announced that it has received more than 500 million (500 Million) applications in the first stages of ticket booking.
Record demand: These are the highest ticket applications in the history of the sport. FIFA receives an average of 1.5 million applications a day.
This time, the matches will be held in three countries - the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In addition to the host countries, more applications have been received from countries such as Germany, England, Brazil, and Argentina.
Since the number of applicants is much higher than the number of seats, the lucky winners will be selected through a transparent draw.
Applicants will start being notified via email from February 5 whether they have received their tickets.
Those who do not get tickets in the first round can try again during the 'Last-Minute Sales' phase, which takes place just before the start of the matches.
Ticket prices start at $60 (about Rs. 5,000). However, tickets in the higher categories can cost lakhs.
The fact that 48 teams are competing for the first time in the history of the Football World Cup has also attracted so many fans.
