Mahatma Gandhi's bronze statue cut down and smuggled into Australia

A bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi was stolen from the Australian Indian Community Centre in Rowville, Melbourne, Australia, by unknown persons. A quarter of the statue was cut off and the theft took place. India has come forward demanding immediate action in the incident.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident. Police said that three unidentified persons stole the statue from the charity premises in Kingsley Close, Rowville.
