Texas: An Islamic organization has been in controversy after it distributed religious books and hijabs without permission at Wylie East High School in Texas, USA.

The incident occurred as Texas is set to vote on March 3 on whether to ban Sharia law.

According to a viral video posted on X, featuring the president of the school's High School Republicans, members of the organization 'Why Islam' distributed brochures titled 'Understanding Sharia', Quran and hijab. A district official confirmed that individuals distributed candy.

School authorities admitted that the organization was not authorized for this and that it was a procedural error. The school apologized for the incident. A section has come forward alleging that this was a move to exert religious influence on children.
