Antarctica: Scientists have confirmed that a mysterious fossil found 10 years ago on Seymour Island in Antarctica belongs to a giant sea creature. The fossil has been named 'Antarcticulithus bradyi'. It is about 68 million years old.
This egg, 11 inches long and 8 inches wide, has a soft shell instead of a hard shell. It resembles snake eggs. It is believed that this egg belongs to a giant marine reptile called a mosasaur that once ruled the oceans.
Scientists have found evidence that this area was a place where sea creatures laid eggs and raised their young in ancient times. This discovery has revised the preconceived notion that giant creatures only lay hard eggs.
