Prime Minister Mark Carney has surpassed his predecessors in terms of foreign travel in his first year as Prime Minister of Canada. According to the data released by 'Global News', Carney has been named the Prime Minister who has spent the most time abroad, compared to Justin Trudeau and Stephen Harper. Carney spent 68 days abroad in his first year. That is, about 20 percent of the time in office! During the same period, former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau traveled abroad for 34 days and Stephen Harper for 54 days.

Carney explains that his travels are aimed at expanding Canada's market worldwide, changing the way it depends only on the United States for trade. After visiting major cities such as London, Paris, Beijing, Doha, Jakarta, he will soon visit India, Australia, and Japan. Following the Chinese visit, China withdrew the tax imposed on Canadian canola products. Following the UAE visit, a huge investment of $70 billion was agreed in Canada. Following discussions with Indonesia, it was decided to reduce taxes on Canadian products.

But the opposition alleges that these trips are just 'cash flows'. They mock that the Prime Minister is interested in going abroad and taking photos using ordinary people's tax money. They point out that many countries impose high taxes on Canada even after the trips. Although the trip is on a Royal Canadian Air Force plane, economists also say that the government is obliged to clarify with evidence what benefits the country actually has from so many foreign trips. However, Mark Carney is adamant that direct diplomatic talks are essential for the country's growth.
