Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been elected as the Supreme Leader of Iran. The news was reported by Israeli media. Reports say that he was chosen by Iran's Assembly of Experts to succeed Khamenei.

Mojtaba is the most likely candidate to replace Khamenei as the next Supreme Leader. There were reports that Mojtaba was the one who led the suppression of the popular uprising in Iran in January.
