Air India set to impose fuel surcharge; fares may increase

 

 

Air India is reportedly set to increase its fares. The increase in fares comes after Air India announced a fuel surcharge following a rise in jet fuel prices in connection with the Iran war.

The airline group said that this surcharge will also be applicable to services operated by Air India Express. The company said that the increase is being implemented due to a significant increase in the price of aviation turbine fuel since early March 2026 due to supply disruptions in the Gulf region.
