The Artemis II spacecraft successfully launched Wednesday morning. NASA's update comes hours after the four-person crew set off on a historic mission to the moon. It is the first manned lunar mission in more than 50 years since the Apollo 11 missions.
The Orion spacecraft, carrying the four astronauts who will be part of the mission, successfully separated from the rocket. NASA has released a video of the event. The previously scheduled critical tests are currently underway. NASA said in the video that the Orion astronauts were controlling the spacecraft themselves.
