Study finds cancer on the rise among children in India

 

 

Health experts say cancer is becoming one of the leading causes of death among children in India. According to the Global Burden of Disease 2023, diseases like cancer are still a threat to children even as infectious diseases are declining in the country. They say that cancer is becoming the tenth leading cause of death in children, posing a serious challenge to the public health sector.

Earlier, cancer in children was rare. However, now the cases are increasing. Although the disease can be treated and cured if detected early, many cases are detected late. Experts say that this increases the mortality rate.
