New York: NASA's Artemis II spacecraft, which is breaking the record of Apollo 13 and heading to the moon, has suffered another toilet malfunction. The spacecraft is carrying a four-member crew of three Americans and a Canadian.
The problem is in the spacecraft's urinary system. It is believed that the cause may be ice buildup in the tubes. The astronauts have been instructed to use backup bags for now.
This is the first human crew to go to the moon in 53 years. On Monday, they will reach the far side of the moon and take photos. They will travel 4,00,000 kilometers from Earth, setting a new distance record.
The crew includes Reed Wiseman, Victor Glover (the first black man to walk on the moon), Christina Koch (the first woman), and Jeremy Hanson (the first Canadian).
The crew will return to the Pacific Ocean on April 10 after completing the ten-day mission. NASA said that efforts are continuing to resolve the toilet issue.
