Washington: The US Senate on Wednesday rejected a resolution introduced by Democrats to end military action against Iran. This is the fourth attempt to end the war that has failed. The resolution was supported by 47 members in favor and 52 against. Most Republicans supported President Trump's policies.

According to the 1973 'War Powers Resolution', the 60-day period under which military action can continue without special authorization from Congress will end on April 28. This will be a major political challenge for the Trump administration.

The US Navy has blockaded Iranian ports. Following this, fuel prices are soaring globally.

Meetings held by Vice President J.D. Vance in Pakistan for peace talks had failed. The reason for the collapse was Iran's refusal to guarantee that it would not develop nuclear weapons.

Trump's position: Trump expressed optimism that the war would end soon. Republican leaders have also made it clear that this will not be a 'permanent war'.

Reports also indicate that the Trump administration will soon approach Congress to seek approval for a large sum of money for war spending.
