'If a woman does not want to continue the pregnancy, do not force her to continue'; Supreme Court makes an important observation

 

 

The Supreme Court has said that no woman can be forced to continue the pregnancy. The Supreme Court has also observed that the woman's decision to continue the pregnancy is the main one. The important decision was made by a bench comprising Justice B.V. Nagaratna and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan. The Supreme Court also allowed the abortion of a 15-year-old girl.

No court should force a woman to continue the pregnancy against her wishes. The court observed that such coercion would cause serious mental and physical trauma to women.
