New York: Expatriate Malayali Albichan Muringayil (Albin Mathew), who had been constantly insulting India and national symbols on social media, has been arrested in the US. A native of Pala, Kottayam, he was arrested by the ICE unit under the US Homeland Security.

He was arrested for illegally staying in the US without sufficient documents. He has been in jail since February 25.

There are several cases against him in Kerala for spreading the Indian national flag and pledge in a distorted manner on social media and for hate speech. This includes the case filed by Aluva police on the complaint of BJP leader Anoop.

He had previously contested as an independent candidate in Pala and Poonjhar and had also tried to form an organization called 'Christian League'.

Reports suggest that the US authorities will deport him to India soon. In that case, the Kerala Police will take him into custody as soon as he arrives in the country.

The arrogance of being able to say anything against the country from the safety of America has now received a legal blow.
