New York: New York police have arrested a 28-year-old woman who pretended to be a high school student and enrolled in school. A young woman named Cassie Klassen tricked city high school officials into enrolling at Westchester Square Academy in the Bronx.
Klassen enrolled at the school on April 13 under the name Shamara Rashad, claiming to be 16.
Principal Marques Rich, who became suspicious of the young woman's behavior, found her real information through a search on Facebook. The principal then questioned her with evidence, and Klassen confessed to the crime.
The young woman said that she did this because a friend pressured her to receive more government benefits. There are also reports that the young woman spread fear by talking to other students at the school about 'hiding bodies'.
The arrested woman has been charged with trespassing and impersonation. The school was placed on temporary lockdown following the incident. The accused is currently in judicial custody.
