Foreign nationals also voted in Tamil Nadu; Investigation, around 25 arrested at airports

 

 

Investigations have been intensified in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry after it was found that foreign nationals had voted illegally in the assembly elections. Around 25 people were arrested at airports while returning after voting.

Tamil Nadu residents who had taken citizenship of countries like Sri Lanka, Canada, UK, and Indonesia had forged documents and voted in the assembly elections. Some of them were arrested during searches conducted by immigration authorities at airports including Chennai on the instructions of intelligence agencies.
