Coal mine explosion in China; 90 dead

 

A gas explosion in a coal mine in China has killed 90 people. The accident occurred at the Liushenyu coal mine in Qinyuan County, Shaanxi Province, on Friday evening. It is reported that 247 workers were working inside the mine at the time of the explosion.

The local disaster management authority said that rescue operations are ongoing and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
