The United States is moving to impose new tariffs on more than 50 countries, including Canada, alleging that they will not take action against forced labor. The US Trade Representative (USTR) has proposed a tariff of 10 to 12.5 percent.
It has been decided to impose a tariff of 12.5 percent on countries such as India, China, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, and Switzerland, and 10 percent on countries such as Canada, Mexico, Taiwan, and the UK.
