Florida: A court has granted permission to a couple who were born from a miscarried embryo as their own daughter following a serious error in IVF treatment. Tiffany Schorr and Steven Mills, a white couple from Florida, were given a black baby due to a mistake by a fertility center in Orlando.
The baby was born last December. The couple subsequently found the baby's biological parents in an investigation. However, they stated that they would not give her up because they were too close to the baby emotionally.
The Seminole County Court subsequently approved the joint custody agreement between the two parties this week. With this, Tiffany and Steven were granted permanent guardianship of the baby. The couple has taken legal action against the fertility clinic for negligence.
