The US naval blockade on Iran has been completely lifted, ending the fear of war that had been looming over the Middle East for months. New international moves to ease the risk of conflict in the region are bringing great hope and relief to the foreign community, including the hundreds of thousands of Malayali expatriates living in the Gulf countries.

The new decision is based on the historic Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed by Iran and the United States.
