WhatsApp is going to open a door to chat without exchanging phone numbers. How about chatting without a number? Instead of a number, our username will be our new identity. This feature will start to be available in the coming months.

WhatsApp has now clarified that you can reserve the usernames you are interested in in advance. This feature gives us the opportunity to chat securely with people who do not want to exchange numbers but need to talk, such as members of local clubs, groups of neighbors, and people we need to contact for business purposes.
