17 nurses in the same maternity ward are pregnant; hospital record broken in rare 'baby boom'

 

 

 

Dayton (Ohio): A rare 'baby boom' at the hospital came to light when 17 nurses working in the labor and delivery department of Miami Valley Hospital in the US state of Ohio became pregnant at the same time. With this, the hospital broke the previous record of 11 nurses being pregnant at the same time in 2019.

Some of the pregnant nurses are expecting their first child. Others are preparing to welcome their second or more children. Everyone is celebrating this special journey together by sharing experiences and giving advice to each other. Some are also preparing to give birth through the hands of their own colleagues.

Hospital authorities said that so many people going on maternity leave at the same time will not affect the hospital's operations. The authorities also stated that the necessary arrangements have already been made as there are about 200 nurses and support staff.
