The death toll from the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 is rising. The official death toll from the twin earthquakes has reached 2,595. More than 12,000 people are being treated for injuries sustained in the disaster. Rescue operations are still hampered in many places due to a lack of equipment. In many places, locals are using ropes and hands to remove the rubble.

Tens of thousands of people are still missing. Meanwhile, the United Nations has announced that it will deliver ten thousand body bags to Venezuela. There are also reports of many miraculous escapes.
