Breakthrough in dengue prevention: India approves first vaccine

 

 

India has approved the first vaccine against dengue. The Drugs Controller General of India has approved the vaccine QDENGA to prevent dengue in people aged four to 60 years. The vaccine was developed by Japanese pharmaceutical company Takeda. It is estimated that this vaccine will be a major breakthrough in the face of the increasing spread of dengue in the country.

QDENGA is a vaccine designed to provide protection against four serotypes of the dengue virus.
