Boyfriend arrested in connection with the murder of an Indian student in Edmonton

 

A boyfriend has been arrested in connection with the murder of an Indian student in Edmonton. Police have charged him with murder. Damanpreet Kaur (23) was found in a critical condition in the basement suite of a rented house in the Silverberry area and died while receiving treatment at the hospital. Her boyfriend, Ritish Kumar (22), has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Damanpreet was found in a critical condition by police and paramedics on July 9. She was then taken to the hospital, but died three days later on July 12. Edmonton police said that a post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was strangulation.

Following an investigation, the police arrested Ritish Kumar and charged him with second-degree murder. Police also stated that no other +9++ people were involved in the incident. The trial related to the case is progressing in court.
