Prahlad Joshi is the new Education Minister. The new minister was decided after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned after the legendary protests by students in the country over NEET irregularities. President Draupadi Murmu accepted Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation and announced the new minister within a short time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested Prahlad Joshi's name.

In addition to the responsibilities of the ministries he currently holds, Prahlad Joshi has been given the additional charge of the Education Ministry. Prahlad Joshi is an MP from Dharwad in Karnataka.
