Toronto, Canada, witnessed a rare sight the other day that both surprised and worried city residents. A coyote entered the house through an open door and climbed onto the bed in the bedroom and slept soundly! Finally, a team of experts from the Wildlife Centre and the police netted the animal.
A cleaning lady who came to the house to clean it saw the coyote lying on the bed and informed the homeowner, Alice Kent. Since it is rare for wild animals to enter homes in urban areas, the news immediately spread panic in the area.
After being informed, a team of experts from the Toronto Wildlife Centre and the police who arrived at the scene safely netted the animal after hours of effort. The veterinary team found that the coyote was a severely malnourished coyote. Wildlife experts believe that it may have entered the house in search of a safe place to rest due to the disease and the extreme cold.
The coyote was provided with emergency medical care and treatment by the Toronto Wildlife Centre’s expert veterinary team. The Wildlife Centre has issued a warning that feeding wild animals in urban areas can change their natural behavior. Following this unexpected incident, residents have been advised to keep their doors and security screens closed.
