Sixteen-year-old girl missing for a week; father pleads for daughter to return

Florida: It has been almost a week since 16-year-old Sophia Veronica Cover, who left her home in the middle of the night in Florida, went missing. The girl left her home in Golden Gate Estates on foot at around 12:45 a.m. on July 31.

Father Richard Cover said that every effort is being made to find his daughter. "Everyone is looking for you. It's very easy to come back if you're out alone," he tearfully pleaded with his daughter. He asked her to reach out to any police officers or safe adults.

Authorities said anyone with information about the girl should contact the Collier County Sheriff's Office immediately. The investigation is ongoing.
