Explosion on ship in Kollam

 

An explosion occurred on a ship that had arrived at the port for repairs. Engineer Sathyaprakash, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was seriously injured. Sathyaprakash suffered burns on his face and body. Coastal police reached the spot and shifted Sathyaprakash to the hospital.

The ship, IOL Sapphire, was going from Andhra Pradesh to Africa with rice. The ship arrived at the Kollam port on the 23rd after the generator failed.
