Foreign beef imports: Oklahoma farmers concerned

Oklahoma: US President Donald Trump has announced an agreement to sell foreign beef imports at a 25% discount to stabilize the country's beef market price. The decision is for the next 90 days.

The president will sign an executive order within the next two weeks. No quota tariffs will apply. Although the White House claims that this plan is to help farmers, the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association has come out against it.

Farmers are demanding that the government leave price determination to consumers and producers instead of interfering in the market. They also point out that this price reduction is not available to the common man due to the intervention of middlemen.

The reason for this crisis is the decrease in the number of cattle herds in the country due to drought and high costs.
