Houthis consolidate dominance in the Red Sea; seize more islands

 

 

The Houthis have consolidated their dominance in the Red Sea and seized additional islands. They have tightened their grip on the Bab al-Mandab Strait, an alternative to the Strait of Hormuz for oil exports. A Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia was reported again today, leaving 13 people injured.

Houthi forces claim that Saudi Arabia launched 58 attacks on Houthi strongholds in Yemen. In retaliation, the Houthis carried out an attack on a Saudi Arabian airbase.
