Marathi Film 'Gondhal' Heads to the Oscars

 

 

The Marathi film *Gondhal* has been selected as India's official entry for the 2027 Oscars. The Film Federation of India made the announcement.

Santosh Davakhar wrote and directed the film. It is a thriller centered on a village ceremony held for newlywed couples and the events that unfold around it.

The film was chosen as India's official entry for the 2027 Oscars from a shortlist of 33 films. Selection Committee Chairman P. Seshadri made the official announcement.
