The United States has asserted rights over Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark. A post on Truth Social announced that an agreement has been reached with Denmark to establish a military base there. If the agreement comes into effect, other nations would require American permission to invest in Greenland.

US President Donald Trump’s earlier statement regarding the acquisition of Greenland from NATO ally Denmark had sparked significant controversy. Trump has now announced that, following secret negotiations between the nations, an agreement has been reached with Denmark and Greenland to secure security-related authority over the territory. He stated that, under this agreement, the US would maintain permanent control over Greenland's security and other related matters.
