'Thaimaman Thangamothiram' Scheme Launched in Tamil Nadu

 

 

The 'Thaimaman Thangamothiram' (Maternal Uncle's Gold Ring) scheme, which gifts a gold ring to babies born in government hospitals, has been launched in Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister Joseph Vijay inaugurated the project at the Rajaji Government Hospital in Madurai.

Gifting a one-gram gold ring to babies born in government hospitals was a key election promise made by TVK. Visuals of Chief Minister Vijay kneeling down to place the ring on the hands of babies resting in their mothers' laps have already gone viral.
