A controversy has erupted over the inclusion of Hindi alongside Tamil and English on envelopes used to dispense medicines in government hospitals.

Following the outcry, hospital authorities halted the distribution of these envelopes. DMK leader TRB Rajaa was the first to speak out against the move, alleging an attempt to implement a three-language policy in Tamil Nadu. He claimed that the envelopes had been distributed in Karur and Coimbatore. Previously, information on medicine envelopes was provided exclusively in Tamil.
